The Brisbane Lions were hurriedly assembling their outfits for what’s known as mad Monday.

But there wasn’t much to laugh about.

They went down to Greater Western Sydney by just points.

Giant’s star Toby Greene again landed in hot water following an incident with Brisbane midfielder Lachie Neale.

Dayne Zorko, Lions Captain: “Haven’t spoken to Lachie yet. He’s dressed as Austin Powers today so I don’t know if his head is in that game at the moment.”

After making contact with Greene, Neale can be seen clutching his face and eyes.

The Giants will now face Collingwood at the MCG for a spot in the AFL grand finals.

To make matters worse for Brisbane fans, the Broncos lost in record-breaking fashion to the Eels.

They were thrashed by 58 points to nil.

Brad Arthur, Eels Coach: “I didn’t think we would play that well. I knew we would have a red hot crack and some days it just goes to plan for you.”

Anthony Seibold, Broncos Coach: “I’m their coach, I’ll cop it. They let each other down, they let the club down.”

The Broncos haven’t won a premiership for 13 years, the longest drought in the club’s recent history.

The Eels meet Melbourne Storm at AAMI Park for a spot in the semi-finals.
