Ablett appeared before a tribunal to challenge the ban over what was deemed a hit to the head of Essendon player, Dylan Shiel.

He argued that the contact was unintentional and was delighted the charge was overturned.

Gary Ablett, Cats Forward: I’ve never intentionally striked (sic) anyone in my career and I am just really happy with the result.”

Ablett is seen as one of the best players in AFL and has been named an All Australian eight times.

Meanwhile in Rugby League, Queensland great Gordon Tallis believes the Broncos can still make the finals under new coach Anthony Seibold.

He says Seibold just has to make the players more accountable.

So far this season they have six losses and just two wins.
