The Broncos are in all sorts of trouble after another loss. They were thrashed by Wayne Bennett’s Rabbitohs, thirty eight to six.

Dominic Elsome reports.

It just wasn’t Brisbane’s night.

A thirty-two point thrashing by Souths wasn’t how Anthony Seibold wanted to make a return to ANZ Stadium, but it certainly put a smile on Wayne Bennett’s face.

Nevertheless Seibold is taking some positives.

Anthony Seibold, Broncos Coach: “We showed some real glimpses you know. Believe it or not tonight was actually our best defensive display.”

The Warriors have also confirmed Broncos halfback Kodi Nikorima will join the New Zealand club until at least the end of 2021.

The Broncos have now lost six of their eight games this season and sit twelfth on the ladder, while the bunnies have stormed to top position.

Rugby Union Australia and star player Israel Folau are set for their showdown on the weekend.

Folau is defending a series of social media posts claiming homosexuals, among others, were going to hell.

Meanwhile cricketers Steve Smith and David Warner are back in the Australian team after serving their 12 month bans over the sandpaper-gate affair.

Warner has smashed 692 runs in 12 games in the Indian Premier League.

Mitchell Starc, Australian Bowler: “He’s a world class player and we’re excited to have him back in our group and hopefully he can continue that form through the world cup.”

In AFL, Port Adelaide Power are preparing to take on Collingwood Magpies tonight, and the Richmond Tigers will play the Western Bulldogs tomorrow in Melbourne.
