The Melbourne Storm coach has backed the growing push for Cameron Smith to return to State of Origin. Craig Bellamy says Smith should answer an SOS from the Maroons.

Bellamy believes the champion hooker is ready to come back from Representative retirement.

Craig Bellamy, Storm Coach: “I think he’s playing well enough to be playing again. If I was Kevvy Walters, I’d be really keen for him to play again, without a doubt.”

The Maroons will experience quite a few player changes this series. Bellamy thinks Smith’s return would give some stability.

Craig Bellamy, Storm Coach: “If Cameron wanted to play Origin again, um he’d do so with our blessing.”

But Bellamy is yet to talk directly with Smith to find out what he may be thinking.
