The Israel Folau controversy has crossed codes. One of AFL’s greats is now paying the price for supporting the Rugby Union star on social media.

Ablett copping heat for liking Israel Folau’s controversial social media post.

But Cats captain Joel Selwood said the incident only spurred him on.

Joel Selwood, Cats captain: “I did notice it today but it just happens to good players whether we like it or not I’m not a fan of it.”

Despite it all, Ablett kicked three goals towards the team’s 23 point victory over Hawthorn.

In the NRL, Mitchell Moses has made his claim for a Blues jersey following his side’s thrashing of Wests.

The Parramatta halfback playing a pivotal role in the decimation of the Tigers, notching up a 45-point victory.
