Fifita’s risking a lot.

The Kangaroos are the World Cup favourites.

That means a potential $50,000 winning pay cheque for each player.

And, it could jeopardise any chance the star prop has at playing for the Kangaroos, and Blues in the future.

Fifita’s defection follows Jason Taumalolo turning his back on New Zealand, for Tonga.

The Kiwis coach remains positive.

David Kidwell, New Zealand Coach: “We have made some strong decisions, we will have 100 per cent commitment from the players we have selected.”

In AFL news, former Swans assistant coach Stuart Dew is the new coach of the Gold Coast Suns.

He’s signed a three year deal to replace the sacked Rodney Eade.

Gold Coast limped to second-last place this year, and have never done better than 12th in their six seasons.
