In sport, the Matildas have made it three in a row defeating Brazil three goals to two in the latest encounter.

Rising star, Sam Kerr scored a double.

Robert Lutton reports.

The visitors opened the scoring in the first minute but were reeled in when star forward Sam Kerr equalized in the 38th minute.

Then she doubled her tally in the second half.

Commentary: “And Sam Kerr at the double, there’s the backflip. Australia head over heels for this team.”

The Australians went on to control the match but conceded one late goal.

Controversially, some of the Brazilian players refused to shake hands at the end of the match.

In Rugby League, sacked Canterbury Bulldogs coach, Des Hasler, will most likely take legal action against the club after he was dumped by the board with two years remaining on his contract.

He had a relaxed approach this morning.

Des Hasler, former Canterbury Bulldogs coach: “Well look life goes on, I can’t make any more comments other than that, but I would be happy to have a cup of coffee, your shout.”

And finally, Adelaide Crows star forward Eddie Betts says he is nervous about being one win a away from a Grand Final, because it’s a childhood dream.

Eddie Betts, Adelaide Crows foward: “You do, you kind of pinch yourself. You know you always dreamt about playing in a grand final, but we’re not quite there yet. All you want to do is win a grand final and hopefully I can do that by the end of my career.”

The Crows take on the Cats this Friday in the first preliminary final.
