It’s nothing short of astonishing.
Patrick Dangerfield, the man punters are tipping to take out tonight’s Brownlow Medal, has earned every point.
Geelong’s devastating loss to the Sydney Swans sent shockwaves through the AFL community, taking away their chance at a Grand Final win.
The Swans take on the Western Bulldogs… They face an uphill battle after losing their past two clashes.
Adding insult to injury, three of the Swan’s tops players were sidelined due to injury.
Aliir Aliir, Jarrad McVeigh and Callum Mills all suffered leg injuries.
John Longmire, Sydney Swans Coach: “They won’t be training this session today but they did what they had to do yesterday and we’ll know a bit more on Wednesday”.
But it was all about Brownlow points tonight … the tallys being transported to Melbourne’s Crown Palladium under lock and key.
It’ll be one of the biggest shocks in Brownlow history if Dangerfield doesn’t win outright.
Cats captain Joel Selwood and Dangerfield have been so prominent they’re nicknamed Dangerwood.
Other contenders include Richmond’s Dustin Martin, Western Bulldogs Marcus Bontempelli and Hawthorn’s perennial contender Sam Mitchell.
