Collingwood led the match at every change, but in the end injuries to four players left the Pies to finish the match without a bench.
Nathan Buckley, Collingwood Coach: “Toovs with some concussion signs, Darcy collar bone, Faz’s, we don’t know, his shoulder’s sore, whether it’s a crack in the shoulder of some description and Tay’s hammy, It’s not fun.”
It was another poor week for the Queensland sides, the Suns and Lions both on the end of big losses to last year’s grand final teams.
Josh Kennedy kicked five goals to help West Coast to a 132-55 win over the Suns, whilst the Lions fought hard for three quarters before eventually succumbing to Hawthorn in a 48-point blowout.
As it stands, North Melbourne is still one game clear at the top of the table after their first loss of the season to Sydney, but the Gold Coast and Brisbane are languishing in 15th and 16th respectively.
