Corey Oates is ready to play this Friday after missing a training session earlier this week.

He is joined by returning Broncos players Andrew McCullough, Adam Blair, and Alex Glenn.

Both Queensland teams are at full strength and it could come down to the wire.

But in the back of many player’s minds is the coming State of Origin selection.

James Roberts, Broncos Centre: “I’m sure I could play anywhere if I get selected in a Blues’ jersey.”

Half the Maroon squad could come from the local derby on Friday night.

The grand final rematch on Friday night means a lot to this Broncos squad.

With the more experienced members playing for an Origin spot, the young players will be looking to prove they deserve a starting spot in this Broncos team.

For the Broncos this isn’t the easiest time of the year.

Wayne Bennett, Broncos Coach: “Well, you know, we’ve got a bigger challenge than just playing footy after the Origin. We gotta go twice. We gotta play three games in eight days.”

Bennett again questions the League’s scheduling about expecting players to deliver their best each week.

Wayne Bennett, Broncos Coach: “You’re talking about the best players in the game. The best players in the team.”

Bennett also urges the league to think about player welfare and lengthening players’ careers.
