The Cowboys are optimistic as they head into their prelim final this weekend.

And why not, after their 39-nil win over Cronulla.

Michael Morgan, Cowboys Five-Eight: “You felt like we were really on the front foot from the start because of the way those guys were running, and that’s what they do best.”

But the Storm will be a challenge.

Melbourne defeated the Cowboys at AAMI park, just three weeks ago.

In AFL, North Melbourne players Drew Petrie and Robbie Tarrant have been cleared of serious injury, following North’s upset win over the Sydney Swans.

Drew Petrie, Kangaroos Forward: “Few bumps and bruises on some of the guys, but no major issues from the night. I think the side’ll be fairly unchanged.”

Both AFL pre-lim finals will be held in Perth this weekend, with the Kangaroos facing West Coast, and Fremantle hosting Hawthorne on Friday night.
