A three-time premiership player, Brown’s fifteen year career with the Lions came to an end after four major facial injuries.
His doctors tapped him on the shoulder.
Brown doesn’t want to see Riewoldt go down the same path.
The Saints skipper suffered another jarring blow to the head in last Saturday’s match against Adelaide.
He collapsed in a heap.
Jamie Cox, Manager, St. Kilda Football: “We need now to rely on our medics. As I said, his health and welfare will be number one, and when he gets the appropriate medical clearance, he’ll be back playing.”
In the NRL, the Penrith Panthers edged out Manly last night in a nail biter, with a late field goal from Matt Moylan.
Ivan Cleary, Panthers coach: “Matt will never let anyone down in any arena, I think. Each one he goes into he tends to rise to the occasion.”
The goal over-shadowed Brett Stewart’s night.
He became Manly’s highest scorer, with two tries in the match.
There was some bad news for the Panthers.
Rookie George Jennings suffered a broken leg after a bad tackle.
Looking at the ladder, Storm are at the top.
The Broncos, Cowboys and Dragons are also on fourteen points.
Manly and the Eels are tied at the bottom.
