The video footage shows how close the family came to an out-of-control car.

About 9pm last night, the couple and their eight-year-old son arrived home and walked up the driveway.

They were a metre away when a car driver lost control and slammed through a brick wall into the house.

Police allege after the accident the 23-year-old driver freed himself, told the family not to say anything, then fled.

One of their relatives spoke about the family’s ordeal.

Relative: “The car just comes flying right over their head and straight into the lounge room, like literally over, like flying like Superman. And then a bloke jumps out of the car and says don’t tell anyone and then takes off like nothing happened. His wife is in shock, the younger one’s in shock.

“No one can believe it. It was just like a movie.”

A police dog located a man nearby.

He was arrested and charged with numerous offences, including drink driving.

It is alleged he returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.103.

He is also charged in relation to an alleged domestic violence incident, after a 21-year-old woman was punched.
