It’s a battle royale involving a pirate a politician and two tiny pooches.

And just like his Captain Jack Sparrow character, Johnny Depp is in deep water with authorities.

Actor Johnny Depp and wife Amber Heard snuck their dogs, Pistol and Boo, into Australia via a private jet and now have fifty hours to send the Yorkshire Terriers home or face having them euthanised.

All animals brought into Australia, including celebrities pets, must undergo weeks of screening to keep diseases out.

Barnaby Joyce, Agriculture Minister: “Mr Depp has to either take his dogs back to California or we’re going to have to euthanise them. He’s got about 50 hours left.”

The dogs are believed to be at the Upper Coomera home of ex-motorcycle champion Mick Doohan.

Doohan has guard dogs and there are fears the dogs might have mingled since arriving.

The pooches went to a puppy parlour on the Gold Coast called Happy Dogs, the owners said they didn’t mix with any other pets there.

Depp is currently on the Gold Coast filming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
