Arsonists may be responsible for torching Burleigh Heads National Park overnight.
About three quarters of the sloping headland was burnt out.

One spark, and the Burleigh Headlands is ablaze.
The massive fire tore across the National Park last night.
Its orange glow attracting hundreds of locals from along the coastal strip.
It finally burnt out this morning.
Police are investigating if it was deliberately lit.
And five-shops were destroyed in a blaze at a shopping complex at Erina on the New South Wales Central Coast.
Forty firefighters were called to the blaze around 4am, finding multiple shops alight.
Mark McKAY, NSW Fire and Rescue: “The sections of the interior have collapsed down inside the building and there is a number of items of furniture and stock inside the shops and adjoining premises heavily loaded with stock and furnishings.”
It is not known how the fire started.
