He thanked McKenna for his efforts.

Guy McKenna, Sacked Suns Coach: “As a senior coach, as an assistant coach as a player no one is bigger than the club, and I so I respect John’s findings I respect his decision.”

Speculation over a replacement has already begun.

Mark Thompson, tipped to rejoin his former Geelong player Gary Ablett, on the Gold Coast.

In NRL rookie Apisai Koroisau will fill Isaac Luke’s starting spot for the Rabbitohs in this weekend’s Grand Final.

He was found guilty of a grade one throwing charge by the judiciary last night and given a two match ban.
