It’s the AFL capital of Australia.

And right in the heart of Melbourne finals, spirit was beating strong.

It’s been a fairytale season for the Swans, finishing the regular season as minor premiers for the first time since 1996, and they lapped up today’s atmosphere.

Rhyce Shaw, Sydney Swans player: “It’s fantastic to be back here again.”

Fanfare aside, both sides know tomorrow isn’t far away and today was a time to put rivalry aside.

Josh Gibson, Hawthorn Hawks player: “It’s great to be playing this time of year, isn’t it, you’ve just gotta get through the prelim and look forward to Saturday at the Gee.”

Hawks fans are excited to have Cyril Rioli back in the mix.

VOX 1, Hawthorn Hawks fan: “A brilliant decision, I think it’ll be the turnaround in the game.”

Ben McGlynn is someone Swans fans are keen to see in action.

VOX 2, Sydney Swans fan: “He’s just a mighty warrior and he just goes and gets it.”

Many of these diehard fans will flood the gates of the MCG tomorrow afternoon in preparation for the last bounce of the 2014 season.
