The Pies and the Eagles are set to clash on the weekend in what could be a crucial match for Collingwood’s top eight place.

The Magpies’ spot is in serious doubt, after their defeat at the talons of the Crows last week.

Jim Malo reports.

The Magpies need to pull off the weekend win but the added pressure on coach Nathan Buckley to make the right selections isn’t going to help.

Two players fighting for the chance to play are Nathan Brown and Alex Fasolo.

Alex Fasolo, Magpies Defender: “Foot’s really good, hopefully I get through training this week. It’s only Monday but we’ll see how we go but it’s looking really good.”

Collingwood are the favourites going into the game, but West Coast aren’t looking to go down without a fight.

Nic Naitanui, Eagles Ruckman: “Yeah I’m coming up to my best footy again. Coming into this next block my body is ready so look out Collingwood.”

The Eagles have four wins from eight heading into the weekend and coach, Adam Simpson, believes his team’s slow starts might be the reason for the sluggish finishes.
