This morning outside the GPO workers enjoyed a free sweet breakfast thanks to The Cup Cake Parlour who donated 1,000 cupcakes.
To help raise much needed funds, the Cancer Council is encouraging people to register and host their own morning tea on the 22nd of this month.
Phoebe Turk, Biggest Morning Tea: “At the moment we are at 4,000 hosts and we are hoping to get that last few to get all the way to six point seven, 6,700.”
The money raised will go towards vital needs, cancer research and education about the disease.
Annie Stonehouse, The Cupcake Parlour: “We have been working with them for the last four years and each year we do different sorts of promotions with them with the Cancer Council.”
Every year the Cancer Council organises Australia’s biggest morning tea and this year it’s aiming to raise $2.5 million.
Cancer affects one in two Australians every year it costs the health system billions of dollars.
Events like this are vital to make awareness and help raise money to cure cancer.
You can register to host your own an morning tea at biggestmorningtea.com.au or call 1300 65 65 85.
