Brisbane Roar coach Mike Mulvey today conitnued to applaud his team after becoming first team to win three A-League championships after an impressive comeback win against the Western Sydney Wanderers at Lang Park.

It was a heartbreak loss for Western Sydney and another slice of history for Brisbane as the Roar defeated the Wanderers 2-1 in extra time.

It is Brisbane’s third championship in four years and first for coach Mike Mulvey.

Mulvey says he could not give enough credit to the players.

“It’s a wonderful feeling, absolutely fulfilling,” Mulvey said.

“It’s just such a special feeling to be part of a special occasion.

“To see the joy on the faces of fans, majority of fans on the stage, the well wishes out on the stage, it was just great.”

Enthusiastic celebrations followed post match amongst fans and continued into the early morning.

Hotel LA manager Sturat Bensley says the inclusion of Sydney fans made the experience different for fan celebrations.

“Having the Western Sydney guys was a nice twist and really added to the environment,” Bensley says.

“The Western Sydney influence was a bit diverse, certainly their crowds are very passionate locals.”

Celebrations continue tomorrow with the tickertape parade kicking off at George Street at 1:20pm with the official presentation at King George Square at 1:45pm.
