For the Diamonds, Caitlin Bassett was the star player, shooting 31 of Australia’s total points.
In tennis, Australia’s Bernard Tomic has secured a spot in the top 16 of the Davis Cup, defeating Polish player Lukasz Kubot in Warsaw.
It’s the first time in six years an Aussie has made it into the World Group.
And V8 drivers Jamie Whincup and Paul Dumbrell secured a victory against the odds, in the Sandown 500.
The Red Bull racing duo botched a driver change, earning the ire of officials and a drive-through penalty.
Teammate Craig Lowndes and co-driver Warren Luff finished second, with Ford duo Will Davison and Steve Owen third.
