Taylor was due to front the NRL judiciary tonight, in a bid to get his dangerous contact charge for a high tackle downgraded.
If cleared, the giant forward will be free to play for the Titans this weekend.
If he fails, he will miss selection for the first State of Origin game.
And in AFL Brisbane Lions’ Daniel Merrett has been given a three match ban for rough conduct, after knocking out Essendon’s Michael Hurley in a tackle on the weekend.
While Collingwood’s Dale Thomas may miss the rest of the season after ankle surgery.
Club manager, Geoff Walsh holds high hopes Thomas will return by round twenty.
Geoff Walsh, Collingwood Manager: “We’re hoping, you know that Dale can be robust enough in his recovery, if things don’t go poorly, we’re looking at round 20.”
Thomas had the same ankle operated on, in the pre-season.
