The Queensland Government has unveiled a million dollar advertising campaign to promote public participation in a new future vision for the state.

The Queensland Plan is being sold as a shared vision for the future.

Premier Campbell Newman announced he would be spending an affordable million dollars on a new advertising campaign.

Campbell Newman, Premier: “The government is spending on an annualised basis at least 30 million dollars a year less on advertising.”

The minute long campaign asks Queenslanders what’s important to them and will air tomorrow night.

The Premier stressed the importance of including the public in the planning process.

Campbell Newman, Premier: “We do want people across Queensland to be involved in that very important consultation.”

Community leaders and politicians from both sides will also hold a summit in Mackay this Friday to discuss the campaign’s specifics.

And Brisbane City Council is inviting residents to get online and give their input into future planning issues that will affect the city.

You’ll have from today until the 30th July to provide feed back for the new draft City Plan.

The council will also be holding 60 community cousulations sessions.
