Ready for battle, the V8 Supercars hit the track today in preparation for this weekend’s third and final endurance race of the season.
Thirteen countries are represented at the Gold Coast event, with international racing elite pairing up with the Australian regulars.
Whilst the V8s may be the stars of the show, four support categories will battle it out on the Surfers Paradise street circuit.
This weekend’s crowd is expected to be the largest since the event parted ways with the Indy Car series, four years ago.
It will be the final time Ford and Holden battle alone on the coast, with the arrival of Nissan and Mercedes to the category next year.
Qualifying gets underway tomorrow, ahead the two, 300 kilometre V8 races.
