Magpies players Chris Dawes and Alan Didak were both meant to prove their fitness at a training session today.

Dawes looks set to play but Didak was a no-show.

Jo Curlis reports.

Didak needed to prove his calf injury was healed in order to play in the game against the Sydney Swans on Friday.

On the other hand Dawes was moving freely, a miraculous recovery from his knee injury.

Collingwood’s strategist Rodney Eade say if he can play, he will.

Rodney Eade, Collingwood Strategist: “If he’s anywhere near 100 percent, like ninety percent, he can function okay, I’ll think we’ll play him.”

In NRL the Manly Sea Eagles are feeling confident about Friday nights semifinal against the Melbourne Storm at AAMI Park.

Coach, Geoff Toovey said they’re not arrogant but there’s a quiet sense they’ve done this before.

Jason Ryles won’t play because of a hamstring problem.
