In the AFL, St Kilda weathered an early onslaught from Carlton before beating the former league leaders by 24 points.

Goal sneak Stephen Milne kicked four goals in the upset win.

Nick Riewoldt, St Kilda Captain: “We haven’t had a scalp yet, we haven’t beaten what you would class a real contender so tonight was really important for us.”

And finally the Brisbane Roar play their final match in this year’s Asian Champions Legaue against Beijing Guoan.

The match is a dead rubber, as both teams can’t qualify for the next round, but it’s a good oppportunity for the Roar to gain experience before next year’s ACL.

Michael Theoklitos, Roar Captain: “The whole campaign has been a great experience for us all, we’ve learnt a lot and we just want to make sure we finish the campaign with a positive, first of all with a good performance and hopefully the result follows as well.”
