It’s moustache season – or Movember if you like – so expect to see a lot more male facial hair this month.

The popular charity drive raises awareness of men’s health issues and provides funds for research.

Ready, set, mo! Movember is back.

This month, Aussie blokes will take part in the charity event, which raises money to help combat prostate cancer and male depression.

Vox 1: “I think it’s a great time to celebrate the moustache.”

Vox 2: “I think it’s absolutely fantastic to raise money for cancer research and to save some people’s lives.”

On November 13, thousands of Queenslanders will take part in the third annual Mousdash – a fun run which is held in partnership with the Movember Foundation.

John Guise, Mousdash Coordinator: “It’s really about raising funds but also awareness, getting people to grow moes, take part in the event, getting Mo Sistas to dress up, take part in the event and generally just spreading the word about men’s health.”

Organisers are hoping to do even better than last year’s event.

John Guise, Mousdash Coordinator: “Over the past two years we’ve raised I think in excess of $35,000. This year we’re hoping to take it to over $22,000 for this event.”

Members of the public can do their bit by registering for Movember or by making a donation.
