Kiesha was reported missing from her Mount Druitt home in August last year.

The funeral procession at Minchinbury’s Pinegrove Memorial Park was led by Kiesha’s biological father Chris Weippeart and grandmother Liz.

Supporters of the Weippeart family, called the ‘Purple Army’, wore purple shirts and handed out ribbons in the girl’s favourite colour.

The small group of mourners paid their respects at the simple ceremony.

The day Kiesha’s remains were found in a shallow bush grave near her Mount Druitt home, would have been her seventh birthday.

Kiesha’s mother and stepfather were charged with her murder and remain in police custody.

The case has been adjourned until late next month.

A public memorial for Kiesha is expected to be held next Tuesday at Mt Druitt’s Holy Family Church.
