Broncos five eighth Darren Lockyer will come up against his former mentor and Dragons’ coach, Wayne Bennett, in Saturday night’s clash.
The anticipated showdown between old friends will add tension to the already cut throat game.
Wayne Bennett penned the forward in Lockyer’s autobiography, however he could have a big say in writing the final chapter of his NRL career.
Alan Langer, Broncos Skills Coach: “He’s the sort of guy that loves the pressure and big pressure game probably suits him more. And he will be sitting up in his little box not giving too much away but I’m sure he will be wanting to get one on Locky.”
This is potentially Lockyer’s final game this weekend and the Broncos have been training hard to make it to the next round.
Ranked third at the moment on the NRL ladder, both sides have to win this game, or it is the end of the season for the losing team.
Langer says he is confident in the rookie team’s abilities.
Alan Langer, Broncos Skills Coach: “Finals or no finals, they just seem to be improving every week, but they got to improve again this week if we are to stay in the competition.”
All tensions aside, both teams are set to go out to play a good game of footy.
