The daughter of Southport MP Peter Lawler has had her leg partially amputated, after being pinned between two cars on Wednesday.

An out-of -control car hit 37-year-old Alison France in an Ashgrove car park, while she pushed her four-year-old son, Zachary, in a stroller.

Zachary’s legs were injured also and he is in a stable condition.

Mr Lawler has been at his daughter’s bedside, days before her 38th birthday, this Friday.

The pair are being treated at the Royal Brisbane Hospital.

The police forensic crash unit is still investigating the circumstances of Wednesday’s collision.
