A teenage boy has allegedly attacked a fellow student with a Taser gun at a Sydney high school.

The weapon was found by staff at the Peakhurst High School last Friday.

Police allege the boy used the stun gun to assault a fellow student.

The accused faces a list of charges including possessing or using a prohibited weapon, assaulting a school student while attending school and intimidation.

Media reports this week suggest that an increasing number of students are taking the weapons to school, to either deal with bullies or threaten others.

The Daily Telegraph revealed at least one student had been hospitalised from a Taser attack, and others had been threatened or attacked by similar stun guns.

The Peakhurst schoolboy, who cannot be named, will appear before Sutherland Children’s Court on May 24.
