Police have raided a house on the Gold Coast in the hunt for a suspected gunman.
Uniformed and plain-clothes Police surrounded the Jamieson Street address in Parkwood around 2pm, following reports a man threatened a woman with a Glock pistol.
Stunned residents watched as their street was cordoned off before Police smashed their way inside.
Initial reports suggested Police were on the hunt for an armed robber, but Detective Acting Inspector Paul Austin, of the Gold Coast CIB, said it was a domestic incident.
Detective Inspector Austin said the man allegedly involved was known to Police, who were taking no chances.
“When there’s a firearm involved – and the person specifically stated it was a Glock – it requires a substantial response,” he said.
No one was found inside the property and investigations are continuing.
