Despite the pressure of tomorrow night’s game, the atmosphere at Skilled Stadium this morning was calm and confident.
It’s the Titans first and only chance to get into the finals this season, and last year’s disappointing loss to Parramatta is still a sore point.
Scott Prince, Titans Captain: “Myself personally, we were disappointed with the way we bowed out last year, and it still burns inside me, so I don’t want that to happen again, so looking forward to it.”
It’s the most important game they’ve ever played, and Roosters halfback, Todd Carney, is likely to pose the biggest problem to their finals run.
John Cartwright, Titans Coach: “It’s been no different preparation to most of the halfbacks you play, you try and work out what he’s gunna do and try to cover all bases – a lot goes into that as well, it’s not just worrying about Todd Carney.”
The Roosters arrived in Brisbane this afternoon.
Jason Ryles, Rooster Forward: “Nah, we’re looking forward to play tomorrow night. Yeh, the game can’t come quick enough for us, looking forward to finishing off training tonight and umm, looking forward to the game.”
John Cartwright, Titans Coach: “You pick up the papers and it is being billed as a NSW vs QLD game so I would think that any Queenslanders would be keen to come along and support us.”
Suncorps 52 and a half thousand capacity has been just over half filled with Titans supporters.
