Socceroo midfielder Cahill, has re-signed a four year deal with Everton securing his future at the club until the next World Cup in Brazil.
The thirty-year-old has been loyal to the Sky-Blues since joining them in 2004, something rarely seen in the modern game.
Tim Cahill, Socceroo: “It’s the right deal. It’s right for my family and it’s right for me, it sticks me up there with the best of them.”
Cahill joined fellow Socceroos, Nicky Carle, Jason Culina and Mark Schwartzer at a breakfast in Melbourne this morning to launch the Aussie team’s bid for World Cup glory.
The Socceroos face a tough first-up match against Germany in Durban on June 13, before meeting Ghana and Serbia in the final group matches.
