Kangaroos final prep for test against the Kiwis

At their final training session in Auckland, players wore bands marking 100 years since the end of World War Two.

Meninga says it’s important to remember what Aussies have done for their country, and each other, on and off the field.

Mal Meninga, Kangaroos Coach: “That everyone understands the sacrifices that the past players and in our case, ourselves, are out there for our country.”

The team have a quiet night planned before their clash at Mount Smart Stadium on Saturday night.

In AFL trade news, the Hawks are to swoop on Giants midfielder Tom Scully.

Hawthorn are also looking to poach Port Adelaide Forward Chad Wingard who has sought a transfer.

The ‘highs’ and ‘lows’ of Hoops and Horse racing will band together in a bumper weekend of sport.

Jockey Hugh Bowman will ride Brave Smash in the Everest at Royal Randwick, as Andrew Bogut makes his NBL debut for the Kings.

Andrew Bogut, Sydney Kings Centre: “It’s an exciting thing to have in Sydney. Obviously being a Melbourne boy, we know they’re trying to steal a bit of our shine with the Melbourne Cup, that we get here in Sydney.”

The NBL season is well underway.

In the opening matches, the Bullets beat New Zealand 86-73, in Auckland.

While Adelaide almost snuck a win against Perth.

The 36ers going down, 99 to 91.
