Tigers and Pies go head to head in first prelim final


It’s the pointy end of the football season. Richmond and Collingwood are playing the first of the finals at the MCG. The sell-out game is the most anticipated preliminary final in years.

Some had queued for days to secure their seat.

Richmond is chasing back-to-back premierships, and their 23 win in a row at the MCG.

The team’s confident superstar Dustin Martin will be close to his best despite carrying a bad corkie.

The Pies are looking for their first appearance in the Grand Final since 2011.

In tomorrow’s second preliminary final, the Melbourne Demons are back in the finals for the first time in twelve years.

Joel Smith will replace Bailey Fritsch in the run-on side, to take on the Eagles in Perth.
