Touring rock star hurt in Sydney crash


American rock star, Frank Iero and members of his band were rushed to hospital after a serious crash in Sydney’s CBD.

Iero, once part of rock group “My Chemical Romance,” is on tour in Australia.

TRANSCRIPT

Iero and one of his crew were unloading gear from their van, which was parked in a bus lane.

A bus then rear-ended the van, trapping the pair.

They’re believed to have suffered serious leg injuries.

Witness: “I don’t see the legs were broke but after, you know, he’s under floor and he don’t move.”

Another crew member escaped serious injury, he was treated at the scene for cuts and bruises.

Witness: “Just getting back from work and um people are, the police coming from everywhere.”

There were no passengers on the bus, but the driver was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

The band called off the final gig of their Australian tour, leaving fans in tears.

Fan: “It’s okay. We love you. It’s fine, it’s fine. We all love you. We all understand.”

The band is still deciding whether to reschedule the concert.
