A Melbourne mother, who was struck by a motorbike outside a shopping mall has an unsurvivable brain injury.
Her life support will be turned off within days.
Abigail Blaikie reports.
Andrea Lehane went to the shopping mall on Wednesday afternoon, to buy nappies.
But the 34-year-old mother of two was struck by a motorcycle, and left for dead.
Her husband James, confirmed this morning that she is an organ donor.
He released a statement saying: “tomorrow she will go into theatre with her life support machine for her final act of caring and giving.”
He is now left with the impossible task of taking her two young children to see their mother, for the last time.
James described Andrea as an extraordinary wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunty, niece and friend.
Police are urging the five young mini bike riders to hand themselves in.
The mother of one of the suspects has confirmed that he has been to the local police station.
Charges are yet to be laid.
